We are introducing four musical guests. Our first three musicians, Chris Huisenga, Sun Daze, and Nathan Barrow, call The Mount Rushmore State home! And then we end with the band Making Movies exploring the serenity of the Northern Plains for the first time.

Music Matters: Innoskate Edition is a series in two parts documenting Innoskate Pine Ridge and Innoskate Sioux Falls. Part-1 features a personal tour pioneered by Lakota skateboarding legend Kyle Mesteth of Ground Control and the Toby Eagle Bull Memorial Skatepark. He shares the history of Lakota skate culture on Pine Ridge Reservation tracing back 20 years. Kyle admits how skateboarding saved his life and continues to save lives today. He also opens our eyes to the future of skateboarding on Pine Ridge. This episode engages in conversations with USA Skateboarding athletes, historians from the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation, President of the Sioux Falls Skatepark Association, and Levitt Sioux Falls staff. Music Matters: Innoskate Edition defines how American history, innovation, skateboarding, and music relate, builds community, and characterizes our cultural identity.
