South Dakota is the state of create and home to many singer-songwriters inspired by South Dakota’s heart, spirit, and beauty.

We are introducing four musical guests. Our first three musicians, Chris Huisenga, Sun Daze, and Nathan Barrow, call The Mount Rushmore State home! And then we end with the band Making Movies exploring the serenity of the Northern Plains for the first time.

Filmmaker Apolonia “APO” Davalos explores this question and more as she intimately captures behind-the-scenes footage and personal interviews with the cast and crew for the world premiere of the original play “LOVING ARMS,” a non-political dark-comedy about an American shooter, by Dr. Kevin Cole.

Music Matters: Innoskate Edition is a series in two parts documenting Innoskate Pine Ridge and Innoskate Sioux Falls. Part-1 features a personal tour pioneered by Lakota skateboarding legend Kyle Mesteth of Ground Control and the Toby Eagle Bull Memorial Skatepark. He shares the history of Lakota skate culture on Pine Ridge Reservation tracing back 20 years. Kyle admits how skateboarding saved his life and continues to save lives today. He also opens our eyes to the future of skateboarding on Pine Ridge. This episode engages in conversations with USA Skateboarding athletes, historians from the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation, President of the Sioux Falls Skatepark Association, and Levitt Sioux Falls staff. Music Matters: Innoskate Edition defines how American history, innovation, skateboarding, and music relate, builds community, and characterizes our cultural identity.

Throughout the history of the Church, artists have depicted the mysteries of the faith in ways to help us transcend our understanding and experience God in a new way. Music has always been an integral part of our worship and liturgy, helping to create an environment which helps us to have an encounter with Christ. Apolonia and Lon will discuss the many ways we can all use our God-given talents to bring glory to Him, and to help us grow closer in relationship with Jesus Christ.

Living the Little Way is a weekly series produced by St. Therese Catholic Church in Sioux Falls, SD. In this series we explore the little ways we can live out our faith every day, following the words of our patron, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, to “Seek Jesus in Little Ways.”
